Meet David
David Adeleye is a public policy professional with expertise in working on social, domestic, and international policy issues throughout the public and private sectors. David served in multiple advisory roles within the Obama Administration at the White House and Department of Homeland Security. An established achiever and leader in public policy, David inspires change and encourages practical reform for the most pressing policy concerns of today at all levels of government.
He served at the Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). USCIS manages the world’s largest immigration system and as a critical member of the Director’s senior staff, David served as an advisor on major issues and problems affecting policies, long-term and short-term programs, and initiatives of the office.
He also served in appointed positions at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP). Throughout his tenure, he identified and engaged key federal, state, local and tribal policymakers to facilitate partnerships and increase investments in policies and programs to improve outcomes in the criminal justice system. He also played a large role in the development of President Obama’s National Drug Control Strategy and National Heroin Task Force Final Report and Recommendations. Following his service at the White House, he was recognized by the Raben Group and Revolve Impact as a leader in criminal justice policy.
Following his work at the White House and Department of Homeland Security, David joined FWD.us, a national advocacy organization in support of common sense immigration and criminal justice reform, as its Midwest Director, and volunteered and worked on political campaigns. His work included serving as a strategic advisor for large and small political campaigns to executing engagements that included stakeholders such as US Senators, US Representatives, and private and public sector executives. He has appeared on MSNBC and been published in Blavity multiple times.
